Grove Hill
Erimus Housing owns over 1,200 properties in Grove Hill, however, there are around 200 properties empty in the area and Erimus has now completed extensive consultation to find out what residents thought should be done to regenerate Grove Hill.
Between January and March, and again between July and September 2006, we talked to hundreds of residents on a one-to-one basis, and gave everybody the opportunity to discuss and highlight issues and concerns about Grove Hill.
A number of residents also attended consultation events and drop-in sessions throughout the estate and we will continue to work closely with the local community during the lifetime of the regeneration project.
The outcome of the consultation showed that while many parts of Grove Hill are popular and have a strong sense of community, there are some areas where residents are concerned about empty properties, crime, community safety, and the environment. Residents made it clear that they wanted to see things happen quickly.
People wanted to see more homes for sale in the area, better local facilities and home and environmental improvements.
In August 2006 the Board of Erimus considered the options for regeneration of Grove Hill and agreed the first stage of regeneration, and regeneration officers have visited every household in the phase one area.
