Tenants Join in Regulation
OUR tenants are to extend their roles in helping shape service delivery.
Erimus Housing is leading the way in resident involvement by forming a tenant regulation panel.
The move means tenants, including leaseholders, will have a formal, influential role in assessing and influencing the performance, service delivery, plans and behaviour of Erimus Housing.
Up to five tenants/leaseholders will be chosen to form the tenant regulation panel. They will ensure that residents’ priorities are recognised within Erimus Housing’s strategy and scrutinise performance across the organisation.
The panel will have direct access to Erimus Housing’s corporate management team and Board. Members will help improve customer service and deliver on the expectations and rights of residents. They will be able to examine company policies and performance information to help them make informed judgements.
Regulators will be trained by an expert in tenant regulation and Erimus will ensure they have the skills they need. They will be expected to attend four to six meetings a year and represent the best interests of Erimus residents.
Neil Brown, Head of Business Improvement, said: “They will act as a sounding board or as consultees for auditors and external regulators and will ensure that any changes we bring in are customer facing.
“The way tenants interact with the association is evolving and we are becoming increasingly accountable.”
