Housing Partners Unveil Parent Company Name
TWO major housing associations forming a new partnership to ensure improvements for residents today revealed the name of their new parent company.
Erimus Housing and Tees Valley Housing proudly unveiled Fabrick Housing Group, which will oversee the business of the Middlesbrough-based landlords when they form a new group structure in April.
The new name is testament to the company’s innovative vision of not simply being about housing, but about dealing with the fabric of society across the region, along with its dedication to building new homes to meet housing need.
The company will be run by a Board of nine members – three from Tees Valley, three from Erimus Housing and three independent members. An Erimus Housing resident has also been co-opted onto the Board to ensure resident representation.
Bob Brady, former Chair of Erimus Housing, is Chair of the Fabrick Shadow Board, while Erimus Housing board member Mike Carr has become Chair of Erimus Housing and Tees Valley Housing board member Sue Jeffrey has become Chair of Tees Valley Housing.
Alison Thain, current Chief Executive of Tees Valley Housing, is chief executive designate of Fabrick Housing Group. Bernard Williams, current Chief Executive of Erimus Housing, is due to retire in the coming weeks.
The group directors, as well as the managing directors of Erimus and Tees Valley have already been appointed and work is now ongoing to develop the remainder of the staffing structure.
Alison Thain said: “The essence of Fabrick is about pioneering new ways to deliver homes and create sustainable communities. We will balance this approach with a sound understanding of what it takes to deliver high quality housing, based on our in depth experience.
“People’s individual needs will be at the heart of everything we will do; being people focused means listening and responding to our residents and staff.”
Newcastle-based communications agency Gardiner Richardson developed the new name and branding, following workshops and meetings to identify the values and vision of the cutting edge parent company.
Employees from Erimus and Tees Valley were involved throughout the exercise, as well as board members from both organisations.
All staff members recently took part in a series of sessions to introduce the new name and brand.
Darren Richardson, director at Gardiner Richardson, said: “We really wanted to deliver something to support both the personality and aspirations of the brand.”
Under the group structure proposals, Erimus Housing, which owns around 11,000 homes and Tees Valley Housing Group, which owns approximately 4,000 properties, will be separate organisations with their own housing stock.
But a group structure means the organisations can bring together their expertise and share resources and costs, leading to improved services for their tenants.
Alison added: “This move is the best way forward to maximise our potential as housing providers and regeneration agencies. I look forward to working with all our stakeholders including employees and residents, to ensure Fabrick Housing Group excels in its field.”
