Environmental Action Group for Erimus Residents
A MAJOR environmental improvement programme is set to boost the lives of Erimus Housing residents across Middlesbrough.
The town’s largest landlord is pouring £6.5m into environmental improvements across its estates over the next four years.
The move follows extensive consultation with residents and councillors at area housing forums, community councils and Middlesbrough Council.
The scheme will lead to improvements in areas including car parking, fencing and boundary walls and footpaths.
Starting as a pilot project in Tollesby and Acklam, the scheme, being carried out by Dunelm Property Services and Erimus Building Services, will see new high quality fencing at 33 properties.
A further 883 houses will then benefit from the scheme in Pallister Park, as the main programme begins to be rolled out. This year alone, £1m will be spent on the improvements.
Residents will receive letters explaining the work and they will then be contacted by a resident liaison officer, who will answer any questions.
Bob Brady, Chair of the Board for Erimus Housing, said: "We are committed to improving the lives of our residents and as such, we are spending £6.5m over the next four years on environmental improvements on our estates".
"I am pleased to see that this programme is starting as this is yet another of the promises we made to tenants at stock transfer".
