FABTV: Information at the Touch of a Button

A wealth of information and services are now just a touch away for residents of Erimus Housing.

The company has launched a new digital TV interactive service, FABTV, available for free 24 hours a day.

The move means customers who have Sky, Virgin or broadband connected Freeview TV can find out a range of local information and request services at a time to suit them, simply by using the interactive service on their remote control.

The new access channel allows residents to report a repair, look through available properties via the choice based lettings service, find out about financial support and request information such as forms and find out how to get involved with Erimus Housing.

Customers will also be able to look for a job via the Jobcentre Plus service, get the latest traffic and transport updates from Transport Direct and even plan a journey anywhere in the UK.

The NHS Choices service is also accessible, offering the latest health news and guidance, a health A-Z directory and the service even offers the ability to book a GP appointment or request a repeat prescription via the remote control.

This new service is found on the Looking Local portal in the interactive areas of Sky and Virgin and is linked to DirectGov, the Government's public services information service. It is also available specifically designed to be used on mobile phones that can browse the Internet, for customers who need services on the go.

Susie Thompson, Group Director of Operations for Fabrick, the parent company of Tees Valley Housing, said: "Customers are our number one priority and it is essential that we offer as many ways as possible for them to access information.

"This is an exciting development which allows people the opportunity to find out more from their own homes and improves access for people who may not easily be able to get onto the Internet. We will continue to develop the services offered to customers in this way."
