Charges & Funds - Calculating Service Charges

We divide up the costs of each service by the number of properties that use or benefit from that service. For example, if your property is situated within a block of ten flats you will be responsible for one tenth of the costs incurred in providing services to the estate/building in which your flat is situated. i.e. one tenth of the cost for communal lighting, ground maintenance and building repairs. Where the costs apply to an individual property the whole cost will be charged back to the leaseholder.

The services you receive vary according to where you live and the type of property you have. For example if you live in a high rise block you will receive many more services than if you live in a property above a shop or ground floor flat.
