Homechoice

The Homechoice lettings scheme is our approach to the way we allocate our vacant properties.

The scheme gives you the opportunity to search for a home of your choice in Middlesbrough and means that you do not have to wait for an offer of accommodation that somebody else thinks might be suitable for you.

To express your interest in vacant properties advertised, you need to become an applicant of the scheme and you can find out more by visiting our Homechoice website by clicking here.

Changes to the Scheme

If you are an existing tenant or you are registered for housing with one of the following local authorities or their partner landlords, you need to know about some important changes.

A major review of the way vacant properties are allocated is taking place across the Tees Valley. Now plans are being put in place for a new sub regional choice based lettings scheme to replace the existing allocation scheme operated by Erimus Housing.

A partnership of local authorities and registered social landlords has been formed to develop and implement a choice based lettings scheme which spans the whole of the Tees Valley.

The joint venture includes Erimus Housing, Middlesbrough Council, Tristar Homes, Stockton Council, Coast and Country Housing, Redcar and Cleveland Council, Housing Hartlepool, Hartlepool Council and Darlington Council.
