Green Agenda

Green Agenda

The green agenda is our sustainability strategy and has corporate and board member support, but the real drivers behind the success of the strategy will be the staff of the Fabrick Group, the parent company to Erimus Housing and Tees Valley Housing.

The contents of the green agenda were forged through staff engagement and consultation. Initial consultation armed staff with an understanding of the One Planet Living (OPL) principles, which are based around the fact that we only have one planet yet the average UK citizen uses the resources equivalent to three planets.

Over 40 employees within the group volunteered to be green agenda champions, with a dedicated job description outlining their commitment to the implementation and success of the strategy.

The strategy uses the ten principles of the OPL framework. OPL comprehensively addresses the environmental, social and economic aspects needed for a robust sustainability strategy.

Our green agenda identifies our commitment to the future sustainable development of our business and communities.

As an organisation with 14,500 homes across the North East and Yorkshire, a turnover of £60m and employing 650 staff, we understand the influence our green agenda can have.

The green agenda is embedded at the core of our business, influencing the way we operate now, as well as in the future.

It has been developed with strong links to other Fabrick Housing Group strategies and action plans, including our social investment strategy, ensuring sustainability is at the heart of what we do.

We believe these links will allow us to positively influence and improve the environmental sustainability of the regions we operate in.
