Registered Social Landlords
Registered Social Landlords (RSLs) are independent housing associations, trusts and companies that are registered with the Housing Corporation.
RSLs are not-for-profit bodies that provide quality affordable housing for people in housing need. RSLs are run by professional staff, but controlled by voluntary management committees or boards.
In November 2004, Middlesbrough Council Housing Services carried out the process of 'stock transfer' - transferring its housing staff and properties to form Erimus Housing.
Erimus is the largest RSL and the largest provider of social housing within Middlesbrough.
