PEER Kids - Hemlington Hall

Year 6 children from Hemlington Hall School took to the streets to help tidy up part of Hemlington, as part of the PEER Kids project .

The pupils, along with Kay Horner Erimus Housing Estates Officer for Hemlington and Fay from the Police Community Support Team spent an hour collecting litter from the bushes, pavements and gardens.

David Foster from PEER Kids said “Peer Kids is not just about raising the Children’s awareness of issues around their area but about showing adults that the majority of young people do care about the community, a litter pick is an ideal way of doing this”.

Connor, one of the pupils, who lives in one of the houses that was cleaned said “it is horrible when you look into your garden and see all the rubbish that has been thrown in by people, Peer Kids helps us to remember not to drop our rubbish and keep the area tidy”
