Erimus Housing has been awarded two stars with promising prospects for improvement.
In May 2008, Erimus Housing was inspected by the Audit Commission. The inspection team was on on site for a week, which included mystery shopping of our services, interviews with staff and board members and focus groups with tenants and stakeholders. The entire process was a positive learning experience for the organisation.
In summary, the Audit Commission stated that: ‘Erimus Housing provides a good service with promising prospects for improvement. It has a good understanding of customer requirements and involves them in decision making. There is an emphasis on diversity issues in its work. It delivers home improvements effectively and ensures the safety of tenants through efficient gas appliance testing. It provides generally good quality housing management services in the areas of income collection and tenancy management. There is a strong emphasis on value for money in how the organisation is run.'
At Erimus Housing, we view this as a learning process and the recommendations raised by the Audit Commission have been incorporated into an action plan and our service planning process. We will be holding consultation events to ensure we continue to improve service delivery focused on the needs and aspirations of our customers.
