Fun on a Green Theme

ENVIRONMENTAL awareness with a twist of fun was on offer in a Middlesbrough estate recently.
Erimus Housing joined forces with its partner Rok, which led the planning for the special Green Planet Community Fete in Grove Hill.
Hundreds of residents turned out during the day to sample a feast of fun including face painting, football and fancy dress competitions.
Bu there was also a serious message to the event. Residents could help the environment and its wildlife by picking up an energy saving lightbulb or building a bird box or hanging basket.
People attending the fun day could also get help to stop smoking, snack on free fruit or try their hand at building a wall.
Mitchell Smith, Regional Director for Rok, said: “We will be involved in the regeneration of the area and this event has helped us understand the needs of the estate.”
Chris Smith, Director of Regeneration for Erimus Housing, added: “As we’re working closely with the residents of Grove Hill to regenerate their area, it was great to meet so many people throughout the day.
“We hope people had fun, as well as helping make a difference to the environment of their community, and of Middlesbrough.”
