Double Award Marks Excellence

MIDDLESBROUGH’S largest housing association is celebrating after scooping two major awards at a prestigious ceremony.

Erimus Housing scored a double triumph when it won the Integration and Collaborative Working and Client of the Year accolades at the north-east Constructing Excellence awards.

The annual awards recognise achievements in the construction industry and offer a variety of categories for a wide range of companies.

Erimus won the Integration and Collaborative Working category for its partnership work with Dunelm Property Services, Rok and its in-house team Erimus Building Services, in carrying out its five year, £105m investment programme to modernise its properties.

Last year, Erimus was highly commended in the same category and developed an action plan to ensure improvements were made throughout the following year.

Chris Smith, Managing Director of Erimus Housing, accepted one of the two awards at the ceremony, held at the Gosforth Park Hotel near Newcastle.

She said: “We took on board all the judges’ comments from last year and were determined to make any improvements we could.

“We worked together to form an action plan and we now work even more closely as partners, as well as delivering within budget, on programme and with constantly high satisfaction scores from residents. That hard work has been recognised in winning this sought-after award.”

Erimus also scooped the Client of the Year Award, a new category this year, after Constructing Excellence asked for nominations for the award from external parties.

Chris added: “We were thrilled to scoop not just one but two awards, which is testament to the relationships we have with our partners and the hard work of staff.”

Erimus Housing will now travel to the national finals of the awards in London in November.
