Eden House
HIGH QUALITY OLDER PEOPLE'S HOUSING
Erimus Housing took over ownership of six sheletered housing schemes from Stockton Council in July 2007, following a positive ballot result from tenants.
We have already modernised three of the schemes: Lauder House; Ewbank Gardens and High Grange House and will be demolishing the three other schemes to build new high quality older people’s accommodation.
The new scheme consists of an apartment block containing 22 one and two bedroom apartments for rent and four bungalows for sale.
Eden House on Langdale Road, Billingham, is the first of the sheltered schemes to be replaced. The old Eden House was demolished in December 2007 and construction of the new sheltered scheme started in January 2008.
Our older people's accommodation is specifically designed for people who value their independence but choose to live somewhere that is easier to manage. The apartment block provides a communal lounge for its residents to share, a secured entrance and a buggy store.
Additional trees will be planted around the development and extra space will be given to gardens, making the surrounding area an attractive place to relax in. The properties will also have well designed kitchens and bathrooms, good security and plenty of storage space.
The company building the new properties is Frank Haslam Milan, a company registered with Considerate Constructors, which monitors the building site to ensure disruption to local people is minimised. The estimated construction period on site is 50 weeks and the working hours will be restricted in line with local planning authority planning conditions.
